I’m getting ready to teach “On Location Lighting” at PCNW (the Photographic Center Northwest) this spring. It will be on Monday evenings starting March 31. This flexible, project-oriented class is for folks who have already taken Light Control or Studio Lighting Basics, or have equivalent experience. We will consider a variety of situations, from setting up full temporary studios to just adding a single light to improve the existing lighting. This class will deal a lot with mixed lighting (such as strobe and daylight together), something we didn’t have time for in the first class.
PCNW has recently received donations of several nice lighting kits, both strobes with battery power packs, and plug-in monolights. I think we have enough gear that students will be able to borrow lighting kits for the full week between classes, rather than the usual 24 hr. period for equipment. This should make borrowing gear more convenient.
We could use more Pocket Wizards to trigger the lights. So if you have some units to donate, that would be great. Older units are fine for our purposes.
It should be a fun and stimulating class. I always learn new stuff in these classes! Here’s the link – PCNW
